Marine Corps Installations Pacific will begin testing the Marine Corps Tsunami Warning System on Fri. Feb. 1 at noon.
This test will be heard on all Marine Corps camps and stations on Okinawa, at Ie Shima Training Facility, and at White Beach Naval Facility.
The system tests will be conducted every Friday at noon, and will
include a bi-lingual announcement with a 15 second siren. Each test
should last for approximately 20 seconds.
On the last Friday of
each month the tests will include the bi-lingual announcement as well as
the tsunami evacuation warning and last approximately three minutes.
