Futenma Shrine

Futenma shrine is one of the 8 major shrines in Ryukyu and many locals visit on New Year’s Day. Futenma Shrine worships both Japanese god, Kumanogongen and Ryukyu ancient gods. There are 2 famous folklores about a mountain hermit and goddess which paintings are exhibited. Also, this venerable shrine has a stalactite cave and you can enter the cave to pray for gods. However, New Year is not available, so if you want to visit the cave avoid New Year.
