Oki Horse Races
Some of you may know Okinawan bullfight, then how about Okinawan horse racing? Okinawan traditional horse racing “Nmaharasee” is not like ordinary horse racing. It is not a race to determine the fastest horse but the most beautiful and elegant running style horse. The race had been popular for local people in Ryukyu for 500years before the war. The race has revived this year at Okinawa Zoo & Museum since 70years. Next “Nmaharasee” will be held on July 7th from 13:30. You can enjoy watching cute horses include small size gentle Okinawa native horses. How about enjoying beautiful horse racing this coming Sunday?
