Oki Horse Races
Some of you may know Okinawan bullfight, then how about Okinawan horse racing? Okinawan traditional horse racing “Nmaharasee” is not like ordinary horse racing. It is not a race to determine the fastest horse but the most beautiful and elegant running style horse. The race had been popular for local people in Ryukyu for 500years before the war. The race has revived this year at Okinawa Zoo & Museum since 70years. Next “Nmaharasee” will be held on July 7th from 13:30. You can enjoy watching cute horses include small size gentle Okinawa native horses. How about enjoying beautiful horse racing this coming Sunday?

Admission fee: 500yen (adults), 200yen (junior high and high school students),
100yen (4 yrs old children and elementary school children)

Okinawan Specialty Products
Do
you like Okinawa’s specialties and products? Department store Pallete
Kumoji showcases foods, cloths, fruits, vegetables and more from all
over the Okinawa islands till July 8th. There are food samples at each
booth that you can try all sorts of regional goodies. Moreover, the
opera like Ryukyu classical theatrical drama “Kumiodori” will be
performed on July 7th. How about enjoying Okinawan culture and products
this week in Naha?
Venue: Pallete Kumoji 6F (1-1-1 Kumoji, Naha-shi, Okinawa)
Date and time: July 2nd–8th 10:30-20:30 (The last day closes at 19:00)
*Kumiodori will be performed for half an hour on the first floor on
July 7th. The 1st show starts at 13:00 and the 2nd show starts at
15:00. No, admission fee is required.
